Bluff View Elementary is eager to meet the diverse needs of all students!
Birth to Age Three InformationThe link below will allow anyone to make an online referral for children aged birth to three. The referral is forwarded to Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED), the agency responsible for providing services to children within the Lake City School district up to age 3. Once the referral is received a Early Childhood Special Educator will follow up with the family. If you prefer to refer via phone please contact HVED at 507-767-1010.
Preschool Aged Children
The primary way we are able to identify children who may be lagging in one or more area of development is through our preschool screening process. Once a child turns three parents should call Michelle Lynch at Bluff View Elementary (651-345-4551) to schedule a preschool screening appointment.
Another way we identity preschool aged children is when an individual (parent, family member, caregiver, professional) refers them to us through the Help Me Grow interagency effort between the Minnesota Departments of Education, Health, and Human Services. The link below will allow individuals the ability to refer a child online. Once the referral is made someone from Bluff View Elementary will contact the family to follow up.
In addition if you would like to discuss concerns with someone at the school contact feel free to contact the Tracy Oliver, Assistant Principal (651-345-4551).
School Aged Children
If you are concerned about a school aged child, contacting the child's teacher is typically your best starting place. They can arrange for a referral to the school problem solving team if necessary.
In addition you can contact Tracy Oliver (651-345-4551) to discuss concerns or get more information about our intervention and referral processes.
