High School Principal
Welcome
Hello and welcome to Lincoln Jr./Sr. High School! We are very excited about another excellent school year!
We are very proud of the education in Lake City! We have great students, a strong staff, and a wonderful community. Our excellent school community has supported our schools with a recent 22 Million dollar bond referendum which was used to renovate our facilities at Lincoln at Bluff View as well as a 10-year renewal of an operating levy. This “renovated” facility means updated heating and ventilation in all classrooms, new science labs/classrooms, new FACS classrooms, a modernized look to the entire school and all classrooms, a newly renovated foyer entrance, a renovated auditorium, a new boy’s locker room, new kitchen and food service, a new track, tuck pointing and new parking lots, and more! We are so very excited about a facility that will better prepare all of our students for a 21st-century education!
Lincoln High School is made up of a 7th-8th grade middle school and a 9-12 high school. Our middle school strives to provide a personalized team approach to education. Our high school offers a diverse curriculum designed to meet the needs of all our students. Our ultimate goal is to prepare all students for the challenges of the 21st century by providing a school that is rigorous, relevant, and centered on fostering positive relationships with our students and staff.
In addition to our strong academic foundation in Lake City, we are also very proud of our strong Arts, Athletics, and Extracurricular programs. We have developed new leadership opportunities for our students with our Tiger Teen Leadership Program (TLP), which develops 11th and 12th-grade student leaders as well as our Tiger Activities Leadership Council (TALC) which helps build leadership skills in our student-athletes. We believe we have programs and opportunities to meet the needs of all our students!
As one of 12 Minnesota schools to receive a STEM grant in 2008, we have developed many new courses and curricula to best meet the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math needs of our students. We have developed a new robotics and engineering curriculum, have eleven Advanced Placement courses, one concurrent college credit course, a successful advisor/advisee program, and have become a CLEP testing site administering over 100 CLEP exams each year to our students. We have classroom sets of Vernier Lab Quests in science classrooms, a SMART Board or Smart TV in every general classroom, and much more technology integration. We have been a 1:1 iPad School for many years as well. This iPad, combined with our use of Schoology as a Learning Management System, has transform how our students learn.
Check out our new Lake City Scorecard as we work to make ALL students College Ready, Career Ready, and Life Ready.
